In September 2023, the Economy for the Common Good (ECG) Bogotá-Sabana Local Chapter in Colombia and the Ayún-Semilleros Local Chapter in Chile held their first ECG business summit in Colombia. Although these companies operate in different markets and industries, they are brought together by a shared interest in sustainability and transparency, as well as an understanding of their role and responsibility towards the common good.

The convention marked a meaningful milestone as the first of its kind in the region, allowing likeminded companies and representatives to come together, share experiences and form meaningful connections within their industries and the ECG network. Founder Christian Felber directed encouraging words to the companies, as well as the dedicated team behind the convention.

The event developed around three main experiences related to the Economy for the Common Good:

  1. Celebration of Pioneer Companies: For the first time, ECG Local Chapters were able to acknowledge and celebrate businesses that have paved the path in the Colombian market. Their dedication and leadership lead by example, not only for Chile and Colombia, but for the region that will follow suit.
  2. Social Justice and Solidarity through Art and Creativity: Attendees engaged in a series of interactive activities that involved artistic expression and creation. Available in person and virtual modality, together they explored and reflected on the value of social justice and solidarity in a unique way.
  3. Transparency and Participation in Sociocracy: Virtual and on-site demonstration allowed participants to comprehend the methodology and importance of transparency in decision-making through sociocracy, developing essential tools to foster participatory governance and effective collaboration in organizations.
