Christian Felber, initiator of the Economy for the Common Good, hands over the certificate for the Common Good Balance Sheet to Heinz-Josef Senneka, representing the mayor, Carsten Torke, during a ceremony at the city hall of Steinheim at the beginning of September 2020. This is the first city in Germany to have drawn up an Common Good Balance Sheet.

Felber was awarded the Reineccius Medal in Steinheim three years ago and gave the impulse to strive for becoming an Common Good City. “We are tackling the Economy for the Common Good,” Mayor Carsten Torke promised two years ago. He has kept his word. It has been a long road that the city has followed and with which the town has taken on a pioneering role, becoming a blueprint for other cities and companies.
