The International Federation was founded on 29th September 2018 as the umbrella organisation of the international Economy for the Common Good movement. It has its headquarters in Hamburg and is a non-profit association under German law.

Only national associations of the Common Good movement are admitted as full members.

At the end of 2023, the International Federation has eleven full members:

Fundraising

The International Federation for the Economy for the Common Good e.V. is recognised as a non-profit association. In Germany Donations and membership fees are tax deductible.

Ethical principles and transparency

Instead of developing new principles, we propose that the ECG organizations will always adapt the newest version of the ‘International Statement of Ethical Principles in Fundraising’ (current version). This statement is supported by the leading fundraising network of 17 national fundraising associations from across Europe. We provide information on donations received and the use of funds in our annual reports.
