Economy of Francesco is a project initiated by Pope Francis in 2019 with an open letter addressed to young economists, entrepreneurs and change-makers in the world as an invitation to come together in order to change the rules of the economy. In his own words: “one that brings life not death, one that is inclusive and not exclusive, humane and not dehumanizing, one that cares for the environment and does not despoil it“. After an initial screening process, the selected participants have been holding periodical online meetings for 2 years now and working in 12 groups called villages. Each of them aligns an economic concept with an human value (i.e.: vocation and profit, management and gift, finance and humanity, etc.).

On September 22nd to 24th, 1,000 young people from 100 countries met in person in Assisi to continue working together, sharing knowledge, best practices and projects and to meet Pope Francis. Together, they wrote a pact signed by the Pope during the event.
